Graphics Card Woes :[
So I'm the definition of the "Un-hardcore" gamer, with probably THE worst graphics card that can play Guild Wars, an integrated Intel 82845G/GL Card, and I've barely managed to play through Prophecies and Factions, with my GW crashing because my Graphics Card can't load some areas such as Resplendent Makuum and the DoA, sometimes FoW or UW, much to my displeasure. I play with the settings on lowest, and I still can't load some areas. Any tips, or should I just cry? I'm only a teenager and don't have job, and parents OBVIOUSLY don't want me to play games, thus I can't buy a new card...

Hey, at least you don't have the problem my friend has. When he tries to buy anything or interacts with his inventory his computer crashes. And I think you have the same graphics card as him.

I'd be willing to bet that you need to add the -dx8 option to your shortcut. Right click the shortcut you launch from and select "Properties".
Right now your target line should read like the picture on the left, you need to change it be like the one on the right. Note that the -dx8 -noshaders are outside of the quote marks.

Does the Intel 82845G render in dx9 while playing in guild wars even? I'm pretty sure it will render in dx8 no matter what, so you would just need the -noshaders if so.

Either
A:Buy youre own card of youre own money.
B:Get youre parents to buy you a new card.
C:Give up.
I mean..if you cant run Guild Wars properly you cant run much properly these days..game are getting more and more avanced and those with old systems are screwed over.
Looks like you have little choiche my friend, but if you have sompthing like a job youre parents can hardly stop you from buying sompthing with youre own money right? Its youre money, they have no authority over it.

I play with the same type of video card...and have had some problems but i currently have 2 solutions...One is mentioned above and works with most areas. One other thing to try is to download. 3danalyzer ver 2.36 It "acts" as a video card. For most of the game I just use the above mentioned settings and it works fine..but for some areas..dont' remember off the top of my head the names I have to use the 3danalyzer
Do a search on this site or yahoo to find a place to download it.
One other thing you need to do is make sure that you go to your graphic card settings area "graphic properties" goto to Open GL tab and select the Driver Memory Footprint and make sure it is on High
In 3d analyzer I have selected
under Pixel and Vertical Shader area:
Skip pixel shader version 1.1 1.4 and 2.0 also select force low precision pixel shader.
hrm what else
Under Hardware Limits :
emulate HW Tnl caps
Under Anti Detect Mode select
Shaders
Under Z buffer:
select force 16 bit stencil (without stencil)
Under Remove STuttering select:
quality mode.
Atleast that is how i have them setup to play the game....cheers
if you still have problems PM me and let me know I try to walk you thru a few things.
